Whether it’s WordPress or not, you really need to keep SEO at the forefront of your mind when you’re building your website. However, this article pertains directly to WordPress and just how easy it is to work with…
It’s been one of the most versatile platforms in the business for a long time. WordPress has been allowing escort agency owners across the globe manage their own websites successfully for a long time now. It’s so user friendly!
However, not everyone who operates in WordPress is fully aware of just how it can help you with your SEO needs. Yes you can customise your design quickly and easily, but you can also do your own SEO in the same way. Indeed, in many respects you will have to do your own SEO, because despite how much WordPress is championed by virtually all who use it, it’s not automatically SEO perfect!
In order to have your SEO playing it’s “A game” you’ll need to consider the following:
- Create your own cache. You will need to do this yourself sadly. Have a cache of your site content allows the Google bots (or crawlers) to access your content quickly; thus improving your site’s performance.
- Change your permalinks. Links for all the pages and blog posts you create on WordPress will not be readable. They’ll have a number of symbols and numbers in them etc. It’s highly advisable to change these when you create the page. Do not try to change all your permalinks on existing pages, since you may interrupt valuable links etc.
- Adjust the default link settings. When you insert an external link on your WordPress site and our visitor clicks it, they will be taken off your website to the one you’re linked to. You can change this setting and have the new link open in a new window; thus retaining your visitor.
- Create a sitemap. Despite what you may have heard, WordPress will not automatically do this for you.
WordPress SEO by Yoast
This is a plugin that you can install for free once you have your site ready to add content. It’s a good idea to do this at the very start. The Yoast plugin features will be visible at the bottom of the screen every time you are creating/editing a page. It allows you to use “keyword focus” and write your own Meta descriptions etc. Do not make the mistake of thinking because you’ve installed this plugin, you don’t have to do anything else. You need to fill this in every time. There are some great SEO tips with the plugin too and it will give you recommendations every time you publish a page.
